Paintings, Philosophy, and recipes

A little bit of summer in these cold months:  Crested Butte Wildflower Festival
48"x36"  I painted this after spending some time In Crested Butte Colorado in July a few years ago.  I had many photo references and some En Plein air studies as well.

This painting was created with oil paint on stretched canvas by using a pallet knife no brushes.   The textural effect and thick paint is how most of my paintings are made.  I hope you enjoy it.

Those are 2 of my favorite quotes from Will Rogers.

Here is an easy to fix and very warming recipe

Rigatoni with cheese and italian sausage

1/2 lb rigatoni
1/4 lb bulk italian sausage
2 cloves garlic
1 1/2  cups spaghetti sauce
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
2 TBL grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp chopped fresh Italian parsley
olive oil

Cook rigatoni -  Meanwhile, cook sausage  in skillet, add garlic , drain excess oil.  Stir in marinara sauce, parsely, and crushed red pepper then pasta, season to taste with salt and pepper.
Transfer to baking dish,

Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan over, place in broiler until cheese melts and begins to brown
